Case Study 2
KERRIUM Precision 29B Alloy for Hermetic Sensor and Electronics Packaging
KERRIUM Precision 29B is a controlled-expansion Fe-Ni-Co alloy developed for hermetic sealing applications in sensors, electronic packages, and glass-to-metal or ceramic-to-metal assemblies. In this packaging case, the alloy was selected for its stable thermal expansion behavior, reliable sealing compatibility, and good dimensional stability during precision manufacturing. Its expansion characteristics help reduce thermal mismatch between metal housings, glass insulators, ceramic feedthroughs, and electronic components, supporting long-term package integrity under thermal cycling and demanding operating conditions. KERRIUM Precision 29B is therefore well suited for hermetic sensor housings, electronic headers, connector pins, optical windows, feedthroughs, and other high-reliability packaging components used in aerospace, automotive electronics, industrial sensors, and advanced instrumentation.
